Giant Pumpkin Carve & Event Winners

Thanks to everyone who participated for making this event a success! ($100 for Best of Show; all other prizes $50)

PUMPKIN CARVE WINNERS

Best of Show went to returning artists Kurt and Ellie Schuster of Wayne, NJ for their rendition of House of Boos.

Debbie Smith of Salem won Most Halloween for her Headless Horseman.

Margo Koehler of Pilesgrove won for the Prettiest Pumpkin, Frosty Fairy, with an intricate lace motif. 

Funniest Pumpkin went to the John Pierce of Westville for his Phillies Fan Wagon. 

Tom Guerrieri of Bridgeton won Best Use of Pumpkin for his clever Phillies Baseball.

Most Original went to Really Crafty Artist 4-H Club, under the direction of Heather Sakewicz-Frank for their Feasting Fish. 

The Youth Under 18 prize went to Pumpkin Under the Sea, also carved by Really Crafty Artist 4-H Club.

SCARECROW CHALLENGE

DuPont team took the winning prize for their rendition of Recycle Scarecrow at the sixth Great Scarecrow Challenge.

Second prize went to South Jersey Healthcare Services.

PUMPKIN BAKE-OFF

Culinary arts students from the Salem County Vocational Technical School judged the 2009 pumpkin bake off.  Winners receive ribbons and prize bags. They were: Shirley Vanaman, first place, for a pumpkin roll; Marie Leuzzi, second place, for pumpkin bars and Stephanie Bitter, third place, for pumpkin bread pudding.

PUMPKIN LOOK-ALIKE

All children who entered the pumpkin look-alike contest were awarded a small prize. First place was Landon Watson of Pilesgrove; second was Elinor Frank of Woodstown and third was Holton Frank of Woodstown. They were awarded a pumpkin goodie bag and a ribbon.   
           
RAFFLE WINNERS

The Hsueh family of Pittsgrove won the first prize of $500 from the dollar raffle, Jayne Yorke of Pennsville won the $250 second prize and a third prize of $125 went to Judy Schafer of Salem. Kelly Widmaier of Pennsville took home the 50/50 raffle prize of $2,150.
